smartphone

Smartphone accessories are everywhere, and if you spend more than ten minutes online, you’ll probably see at least one advertisement for some gadget that promises to make your phone easier or more fun to use.

Aside from long selfie sticks, which seem to have faded in popularity despite their usefulness, here are some of the most popular smartphone accessories you just can’t live without.

A durable, rugged phone case

If you’ve already invested close to $1,000 in buying your smartphone, it makes sense to buy a durable, rugged case to protect it from drops and other accidents. A good smartphone case should always be the most important accessory you start with before anything else.

You may have seen people talking about how celebrities don’t use phone cases. It seems that a caseless smartphone has become a status symbol, indicating you have so much money you can just replace your phone if it breaks. Even if the cost of replacing your screen or entire phone wouldn’t put a dent in your bank account, it’s still inconvenient and a pain to deal with.

According to data sourced by MarketWatch, Americans spent more than $3 billion on cracked screens in 2018. Screens crack so often that it just makes sense to put your phone in a case, regardless of how wealthy you are.

 A Bluetooth speaker

No matter how good smartphone speakers are, they don’t come close to the quality that comes from a Bluetooth speaker. There’s just no room in a phone for the components that create high-quality sound, which is why you need a Bluetooth speaker for your phone.

You might already have a speaker for your car if you can’t run your calls through the radio. What about a speaker for listening to music, or watching videos while you relax after work? You don’t need to get a huge speaker, but get one at least 6” high to create a decent sound experience.

 A car mount

In most states, driving while holding a cellphone is illegal, and even if it isn’t, it’s not a good idea. If you’re going to take phone calls while driving, you need a car mount for your phone. It’s also excellent for using your phone as a GPS.

Skip the complicated mounts that clip to your vents and go for the magnetic mounts. They are not powerful enough to wipe your hard drive, so you don’t have to worry about that. Magnetic mounts will hold your phone in place securely even when you drive over bumps and through potholes.

 Screen protectors

Although screen protectors aren’t a bulletproof way to keep your smartphone screen from breaking, they can help. Liquid gas screen protectors can prevent scratches and tempered glass screen protectors can absorb shocks. However, they aren’t perfect, so don’t rely on them alone.

 Camera lens attachments

Lens attachments for your smartphone are some of the coolest inventions ever. It’s no secret that the quality of a standard camera doesn’t come close to that of a real DSLR camera, although some phones have better cameras than others. By getting a lens attachment, you can get a variety of lens options just as if you were using a real camera.

 Earbuds

It goes without saying that everyone should have high-quality earbuds. You don’t want to listen to your voicemails or stream Spotify through your phone’s speaker on the train or in a coffee shop, despite the fact that some people do just that. Earbuds give you the ability to listen privately, which is a gift to everyone around you, too.

 Extra chargers

Who hasn’t lost a smartphone charger or two over the years? You can never have too many chargers. This is one accessory you should probably have at least five of, and spread them out between your bags (and leave one in your office at all times).

 A power bank

A small, portable power bank will come in handy the first time your phone dies and you can’t get to an outlet to charge it up. With a power bank, you can pull it out of your pocket or bag and charge your phone enough to use until you can get a full charge.

Smartphone accessories make life easier

These are just some of the accessories that can make your life easier. There’s an endless supply of smartphone gadgets online, so if you’re looking for something specific, if you search hard enough, you’ll probably find it.
